E.C. :)According to the central office, the extra days are the same as any other.
“These are going to be regular school days, especially for the elementary and middle school students, and the same expectations of learning and instruction happening would apply this day as it does any other day,” said Haley Miller, a school spokeswoman.
The educational value of the extra days has been debated, though.
School board Chairman Alan Duncan has said holding the days after exams and tests was not helpful. He and others have said educational goals would be better served by holding the makeup days earlier.

Can one qualify as a high school/secondary school teacher
with a DPI license for K-6 grade.
We seem to allow that.
What would you say about an elementary school teacher in Guilford County having had a recent restraining order/anti-stalking order against her and a violation for communicating a death threat? Do you think this should have been investigated by the school board? Should someone with this continued to teach young children?

There was a fire in the gym and the air-conditioning broke down today at Jesse Wharton Elementary. It's a good thing most of us parents didn't send our children on this ridiculous make-up day!
