Next year's calendar approved...and posted

Your Board of Education approved the long-awaited 2009-10 academic calendar. And GCS wants you to know that since this is a revised calendar (as a result of the firestorm that occurred following the late snowdays GCS had last month), these are the new "features" of the new calendar:

• Keeps all snow or make-up days within the June 10 deadline

• Creates more equity in terms of instructional days between the first and second semester

• Shortens winter break

• Moves more snow or make-up days to the second semester to accommodate typical weather patterns
