Heads-up on tomorrow's GCS Board meeting...according to an agenda item, Board members will discuss yet-another action plan on how to deal with our lowest-of-the-low performing schools.These schools are:
Elementary: Gillespie, Montlieu, Oak Hill, Vandalia
Middle: Ferndale
High: The Academy at High Point Central, The Academy at Smith, Andrews and Northeast
More importantly, look at the attachments on this agenda item for some interesting reading.
One thing I'd like to comment on...both the Central Academy and the Smith Academy are rather-new schools. Why are they considered low-performing already?

EC they were already "low-performing" schools! That was Grier's MO....you put an "Academy" in a low performing school and prayed to God a magical array of smart students would come and "fix" it miraculously. It never worked but that never stopped him nor our BOE from doing it all over the county.
