Smith receives Humphrey Award

Congratulations to Smith High School for receiving this year's Hubert Humphrey Award for year-over-year school improvement, which includes student achievement, parental involvement and attendance.

Principal Noah Rogers proudly accepted the award at last night's GCS Board meeting. Smith has a long way to go, but he seems to be making inroads at the long-time struggling Greensboro high school.

2010. Someone had better step up to the plate.

Ms. Hayes feels no need to step up to any plate. She's not on the School Board to better the education of our youth, she's on the Board to use it as a mouthpiece and to keep her husband employed.

And hopefully in 2010, some in her district will see that.
